Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 143-164

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The State of North Carolina, and its several departments, institutions, agencies and commissions, are hereby authorized to accept and receive loans, grants, and other assistance from the United States government, departments and/or agencies thereof, for its use, and to receive like financial and other aid from other agencies in carrying out any undertaking which has been authorized by the Governor of North Carolina, with the approval of the Council of State.
