Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 143-53.1

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

(a) On and after July 1, 2014, the procedures prescribed by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-52 with respect to competitive bids and the bid value benchmark authorized by N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-53(a)(2) with respect to rule making by the Secretary of Administration for competitive bidding shall promote compliance with the principles of procurement efficiency, transparency, and fair competition to obtain the State‘s business. For State departments, institutions, and agencies, except the President of The University of North Carolina or a special responsibility constituent institution of The University of North Carolina and community colleges, the benchmark shall not be greater than one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). For the President of The University of North Carolina or a special responsibility constituent institution of The University of North Carolina, the benchmark prescribed in this section is as provided in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 116-31.10 For community colleges, the benchmark prescribed in this section is as provided in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115D-58.14
