- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The State Bureau of Investigation, as contained in Article 4 of Chapter 114 of the N.C. Gen. Stat. and the laws of this State, is hereby transferred by a Type I transfer to the Department of Justice. (1971, c. 864, s. 8.)
