Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 15A-644.1

  • Plea: In a criminal case, the defendant's statement pleading "guilty" or "not guilty" in answer to the charges, a declaration made in open court.

A defendant who pleads guilty or no contest in district court pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 7A-272(c)(1) shall enter that plea to an information complying with N.C. Gen.
