- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. Within nine days after a primary or election is held in any municipality, the chairman of the county board of elections shall mail to the chairman of the State Board of Elections, the duplicate abstract prepared in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 163-182.6 One copy shall be retained by the county board of elections as a permanent record and one copy shall be filed with the city clerk.
