Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 20-137.9

  • property: shall include all property, both real and personal. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3

Any abandoned or any derelict vehicle in this State shall be subject to be removed from public or private property provided not  objected to by the owner of the private property after notice as hereinafter provided and disposed of in accordance with the provisions of this Part, provided, that all abandoned motor vehicles left on any right-of-way of any road or highway in this State may be removed in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 20-161 (1973, c. 720, s. 1.)
