Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 25-10-102

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of a statute, shall be construed to mean the section next preceding or next following that in which such reference is made; unless when some other section is expressly designated in such reference. See North Carolina General Statutes 12-3
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.

(1) The following acts and all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed:

Uniform Negotiable Instruments Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 25-1 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 25-199

Uniform Warehouse Receipts Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 27-1 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 27-53

Uniform Bills of Lading Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 21-1 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 21-41

Uniform Stock Transfer Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 55-75 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 55-98

Uniform Trust Receipts Act, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 45-46 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 45-66

Agricultural liens for advances, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-52 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-64

Bank collections, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 53-57 and 53-58.

Bulk sales, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 39-23

Factor’s lien acts, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-70 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-76

Assignment of accounts receivable, N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-77 through N.C. Gen. Stat. § 44-85

(2) Transactions validly entered into before July 1, 1967, and the  rights, duties and interests flowing from them remain valid thereafter and may be terminated, completed, consummated or enforced as required or permitted by any statute or other law amended or repealed by this act as though such repeal or amendment had not occurred.
