At the request of a prosecutor or other appropriate public official acting under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 50A-315, a law enforcement officer may take any lawful action reasonably necessary to locate a child or a party and assist a prosecutor or appropriate public official with responsibilities under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 50A-315 (1979, c. 110, s. 1; 1999-223, s. 3.)
