Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 58-91-1

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. The Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact Act is intended to help states join together to establish an interstate compact to regulate designated insurance products.

Pursuant to terms and conditions of this Article, this State seeks to join with other states and establish the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Compact and thus become a member of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission. The Commissioner of Insurance, or the Commissioner’s designee, is hereby designated to serve as the representative of this State to the Commission. (2005-183, s. 1; 2009-382, s. 35.)
