North Carolina General Statutes 59-35.1. Filing of documents
(a) A document required or permitted by this Act to be filed by the Secretary of State must be filed under Chapter 55D of the N.C. Gen. Stat..
(b) A document submitted for filing by the Secretary of State on behalf of a general partnership must be executed by a general partner of the partnership.
(c) The Secretary of State may adopt and furnish on request forms for:
(1) An application for registration as a registered limited liability partnership;

- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. (2) Cancellation of registration as a registered limited liability partnership;
(3) Application for registration as a foreign limited liability partnership; and
(4) Cancellation of registration as a foreign limited liability partnership.
If the Secretary of State so requires, use of these forms is mandatory.
