Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 62-163
- Certificate: means a certificate of public convenience and necessity issued by the Commission to a person or public utility or a certificate of authority issued by the Commission to a bus company. See North Carolina General Statutes 62-3
- Commission: means the North Carolina Utilities Commission. See North Carolina General Statutes 62-3
- public utility: except as otherwise expressly provided in this Chapter, shall not include the following:
Every application for authority for such issue or assumption shall be made in such form and contain such matters as the Commission may prescribe. Every such application and every certificate of notification hereinafter provided for shall be made under oath, signed and filed on behalf of the public utility by its president, a vice-president, auditor, comptroller, or other executive officer duly designated for that purpose by such utility.
