- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
Each defendant, offender, or respondent in a juvenile petition for abuse, neglect, or both, who receives treatment under a local judicially managed accountability and recovery court shall contribute to the cost of that treatment based upon guidelines developed by the local judicially managed accountability and recovery court committee.
