- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
A victim has the right to receive restitution when ordered by the court pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 7B-2506(4) and N.C. Gen. Stat. § 7B-2506(22). (2019-216, s. 10.)
