Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 90-117.1
- Adjourn: A motion to adjourn a legislative chamber or a committee, if passed, ends that day's session.
- Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
A majority of the members of said Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. If a majority of members are not present at the time and the place appointed for a Board meeting, those members of the Board in attendance may adjourn from day to day until a quorum is present, and the action of the Board taken at any adjourned meeting thus had shall have the same force and effect as if had upon the day and at the hour of the meeting called and adjourned from day to day.
