Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes > Chapter 106 > Article 35B - Livestock Dealer Licensing Act
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Agriculture of North Carolina;
(2) The term "livestock" means cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses and mules;
(3) The term "livestock dealer" means any person who buys livestock (i) for his own account for purposes of resale, or (ii) for the account of others; and
(4) The term "person" means an individual, partnership, corporation, association, or other legal entity. See North Carolina General Statutes 106-418.8
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
