The board of county commissioners, in cases of public importance and with the advice and consent of the state‘s attorney, may employ additional counsel to assist the state’s attorney.

- Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.

Such counsel shall receive such compensation as may be agreed upon between the parties.
