1. An individual who is a qualified elector of this state may:
Terms Used In North Dakota Code 15.1-07-14
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Individual: means a human being. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
- Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
- qualified elector: means a citizen of the United States who is eighteen years of age or older; and is a resident of this state and of the area affected by the petition. See North Dakota Code 1-01-51
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
a. Vote to elect board members for the school district in which the individual resides; b. Serve as a board member for the school district in which the individual resides; and c. Serve as a judge or clerk of election for the school district in which the individual resides.
2. For the purposes of elections held under this chapter, an individual residing on a military installation is deemed to be a resident of a school district if the school district admits students from the military installation pursuant to a contract and receives impact aid pursuant to Public Law No. 81-874 [64 Stat. 1100; 20 U.S.C. § 236 et seq.], as amended.
