At the request of a student’s parent or guardian, the student’s school principal shall permit a student to be excused for up to one hour each week in order to obtain religious instruction.

- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
