All challenges to an individual juror, except peremptory, must be taken, first by the defendant, and then by the state, and each party shall exhaust all of that party’s challenges before the other begins.
Terms Used In North Dakota Code 29-17-44
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Individual: means a human being. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
- Juror: A person who is on the jury.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
