Officers or enlisted members of the national guard when called into state active duty by the governor must be reimbursed for traveling and incidental expenses at the same rate provided by law for other state officials. The adjutant general may authorize the purchase of meals or rations for officers or enlisted members of the national guard in a duty or travel status in lieu of individual reimbursement for meals.
Terms Used In North Dakota Code 37-04.1-02
- Individual: means a human being. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
- National guard: means that part of the military forces of this state which is organized, equipped, and federally recognized under the provisions of the National Defense Act, as amended, of the United States as the "national guard, air national guard, of the United States and the state of North Dakota". See North Dakota Code 37-01-01
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See North Dakota Code 1-01-49
- State active duty: means active service on behalf of the state under authority of the governor at the expense of the state. See North Dakota Code 37-01-01
