From moneys appropriated for this purpose, the chief of the division of mineral resources management shall reclaim any land or tract of land acquired pursuant to section 1513.20 of the Revised Code in such manner that, after reclamation, such land or tract shall be suitable for agriculture, forests, recreation, wildlife, water conservation, or such other use as the chief may deem proper for such land, or tract of land, in light of the character of the soil, the topography of the land or tract to be reclaimed and of the surrounding lands, the proximity thereof to urban centers, and the requirements of any applicable conservation program.

- agriculture: includes farming; ranching; aquaculture; algaculture meaning the farming of algae; apiculture and related apicultural activities, production of honey, beeswax, honeycomb, and other related products; horticulture; viticulture, winemaking, and related activities; animal husbandry, including, but not limited to, the care and raising of livestock, equine, and fur-bearing animals; poultry husbandry and the production of poultry and poultry products; dairy production; the production of field crops, tobacco, fruits, vegetables, nursery stock, ornamental shrubs, ornamental trees, flowers, sod, or mushrooms; timber; pasturage; any combination of the foregoing; the processing, drying, storage, and marketing of agricultural products when those activities are conducted in conjunction with, but are secondary to, such husbandry or production; and any additions or modifications to the foregoing made by the director of agriculture by rule adopted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code. - Reclamation: means backfilling, grading, resoiling, planting, and other work that has the effect of restoring an area of land affected by coal mining so that it may be used for forest growth, grazing, agricultural, recreational, and wildlife purpose, or some other useful purpose of equal or greater value than existed prior to any mining.
