Ohio Code 4501.10 – Public safety investigative unit salvage and exchange fund
(A) Except as provided in division (B) of this section, money received by the department of public safety from the sale of motor vehicles and related equipment pursuant to section 125.13 of the Revised Code shall be transferred to the public safety – highway purposes fund created in section 4501.06 of the Revised Code. The money shall be used only to purchase replacement motor vehicles and related equipment.

- Vehicles: means everything on wheels or runners, including motorized bicycles, but does not mean electric personal assistive mobility devices, low-speed micromobility devices, vehicles that are operated exclusively on rails or tracks or from overhead electric trolley wires, and vehicles that belong to any police department, municipal fire department, or volunteer fire department, or that are used by such a department in the discharge of its functions. (B) Money received by the department of public safety investigative unit established under section 5502.13 of the Revised Code from the sale of motor vehicles and other equipment pursuant to section 125.13 of the Revised Code shall be deposited into the Ohio investigative unit fund created in section 5502.132 of the Revised Code. The money shall be used only to purchase replacement motor vehicles and other equipment for that unit.
