Except as otherwise provided in sections 4921.32 to 4921.38 of the Revised Code, a for-hire motor carrier engaged in the transportation of household goods in intrastate commerce:

Terms Used In Ohio Code 4921.30

  • For-hire motor carrier: includes the carrier's agents, officers, and representatives, as well as employees responsible for hiring, supervising, training, assigning, or dispatching drivers and employees concerned with the installation, inspection, and maintenance of motor-vehicle equipment and accessories. See Ohio Code 4921.01
  • Household goods: means personal effects and property used or to be used in a dwelling, excluding property moving from a factory or store. See Ohio Code 4921.01

(A) Is subject to Chapter 4921 of the Revised Code and to all other provisions of the Revised Code applicable to a for-hire motor carrier, including sections 4506.22, 4511.78, 5502.01, 5503.02, and 5503.34 of the Revised Code;

(B) Is not a public utility as defined in section 4911.01 of the Revised Code.
