§ 230. Municipal training institute. The municipal training institute of the state of New York, a corporation created by the regents pursuant to § 216 of the education law for the purpose of improving the administration of municipal affairs by providing courses of training for municipal officials in cities and villages of the state and conducting schools therefor having received an absolute charter under section two hundred sixteen, and the regents having approved the courses of study and plan of instruction of such institute, the cost of carrying out the program of the institute may be defrayed in part with grants of federal vocational education moneys made to the regents under acts of congress for training those in public and other service occupations.
