If the magistrate orders the defendant to be held to answer, the magistrate shall make out a commitment, signed by the magistrate with the name of office of the magistrate, and deliver it with the defendant to the officer to whom the defendant is committed or, if that officer is not present, to any peace officer, who shall immediately deliver the defendant into the proper custody, together with the commitment.
