A subpoena may be served by the defendant or any other person over 18 years of age and shall be served by any sheriff or constable within the county or district of the sheriff or constable, as the case may be, when delivered to the sheriff or constable for service, either on the part of the prosecution or of the defendant.   • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
  • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
