(1) An interim committee may function during the period beginning at the adjournment sine die of the odd-numbered year regular session of the Legislative Assembly during which it was created, and ending at the convening of the next odd-numbered year regular session of the Legislative Assembly.

  • Adjournment sine die: The end of a legislative session "without day." These adjournments are used to indicate the final adjournment of an annual or the two-year session of legislature.

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1) of this section, the activities of an interim committee are suspended during the period beginning at the convening of the even-numbered year regular session of the Legislative Assembly and ending at the adjournment sine die of that session.
