(1) If an agency of state government, as defined in ORS § 174.111, conducts a criminal records check of a person for the purposes of employment by the agency, the agency shall conduct the criminal records check through the Department of State Police.

- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- state government: means the executive department, the judicial department and the legislative department. See Oregon Statutes 174.111
(2) A criminal records check conducted through the Law Enforcement Data System meets the requirements of this section. [2019 c.424 § 1]
