The Public Transit Account is established in the General Fund of the State Treasury. Except as otherwise provided by law, all moneys received by the Department of Transportation for public transit purposes, from whatever source, shall be paid into the State Treasury and credited to the account. All moneys in the account are appropriated continuously to the department and shall be used for public transit purposes authorized by law. [1975 c.522 § 6; 1977 c.230 § 5; 1993 c.741 § 16]
