At the time the notice of appeal is filed as provided in ORS § 19.240, the appellant shall deposit with the State Court Administrator the amount of the appropriate filing fee. The timely deposit of such fee is not jurisdictional, but omission to do so shall be cause for dismissal of the appeal, subject to the provisions of ORS § 19.270 (3). [Formerly 19.035]
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 19.265
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
