For purposes of a formation proceeding, the county board where the petition is filed shall have original and, except as provided by ORS § 199.410 to 199.519, exclusive jurisdiction, coextensive with the boundaries of the proposed district, without regard to county lines. For all purposes under ORS § 198.705 to 198.955, the jurisdiction of the county board of the principal county shall continue from the time a district is formed until the district is dissolved. - district: means any one of the following:
(1) A people's utility district organized under ORS Chapter 261. See Oregon Statutes 198.010
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
