Upon the death or retirement of a member of the Public Employees Retirement System, the Public Employees Retirement Board shall credit earnings to the participating public employer or employers that employed the member. The board shall credit earnings to the amounts charged to each employer by reason of the death or retirement. The earnings rate used by the board shall be the same rate that the board uses for crediting member accounts at the time the charge is made. [2001 c.945 § 21]
