As provided by ORS § 267.010 to 267.394, a mass transit district may be created in any metropolitan statistical area for the purpose of providing a mass transit system for the people of the district. Except as otherwise provided in ORS § 267.107 (2)(c), the territorial jurisdiction of the district may include all territory within the geographic boundaries of every Oregon county in that metropolitan statistical area. - Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
