The Director of the Oregon Department of Administrative Services, subject to any applicable provisions of the State Personnel Relations Law, shall appoint and supervise state building police officers, who shall protect the buildings and property in the capitol area that are within the jurisdiction of the Oregon Department of Administrative Services and enforce traffic and parking rules established by the department in areas subject to its jurisdiction and, in performing such duties, shall have the same authority as other peace officers as defined in ORS § 133.005. - Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
