In addition to any other provision of law, if a landlord violates ORS § 307.517 (1)(c), a tenant may recover damages in an amount triple the actual damages sustained as a result of the violation. The court may award reasonable attorney fees to the prevailing party in an action under this section. [1989 c.803 § 6; 1995 c.618 § 62]
