There is established a State Council for Educational Opportunity for Military Children, as described in Article VIII of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children under ORS § 326.552, consisting of the Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction, the members of the State Board of Education, the military family education liaison and the compact commissioner. The Governor may appoint other individuals to the state council and shall make a good faith effort to ensure that other individuals appointed are individuals who are described in Article VIII of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children under ORS § 326.552 and who are well informed on the principles of education of military children.
