Any payments made to an individual with an occupational handicap as maintenance under ORS § 344.511 to 344.690 and 344.710 to 344.730 shall not be transferable or assignable at law or in equity. None of the money payable under ORS § 344.511 to 344.690 and 344.710 to 344.730 shall be subject to execution, levy, attachment, garnishment or other legal process or to the operation of any bankruptcy or insolvency law.
