(1) Except as otherwise provided in ORS § 36.730, an application for judicial relief under ORS § 36.600 to 36.740 must be made by petition to the court. The petitioner and the respondent must pay the filing fees established under ORS § 21.135.
(2) Unless a civil action involving the agreement to arbitrate is pending, notice of a first petition to the court under ORS § 36.600 to 36.740 must be served in the manner provided by ORCP 7 D.
