(1) The portion of Oregon Highway 82 between mileposts 18 and 25 shall also be known as the Deputy Raymond Williams and Deputy Michael Cheney Memorial Highway.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 366.926

  • Department: means the Department of Transportation. See Oregon Statutes 366.005
  • Highway: means every public way, road, street, thoroughfare and place, including bridges, viaducts and other structures within the boundaries of this state, open, used or intended for use of the general public for vehicles or vehicular traffic as a matter of right. See Oregon Statutes 366.005

(2) The Department of Transportation shall place and maintain suitable markers along the highway described in this section that indicate the designation of the highway as the Deputy Raymond Williams and Deputy Michael Cheney Memorial Highway.

(3)(a) The department may accept moneys from and may enter into agreements with law enforcement groups, other civic organizations or individuals to create, install and maintain the markers.

(b) The department may not use public funds for the installation and maintenance of the markers. [2023 c.107 § 1]
