(1) The resolution of intention shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation published within the county, city or city and county, as the case may be. The first publication shall be not less than 60 days prior to the date fixed therein for hearing. In a city where no such newspaper is published, the resolution shall instead be so published in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county in which the city is located.

(2) Copies of the resolution headed ‘Notice of Intention to Establish a Pedestrian Mall’ in letters at least one-half inch in height shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart as follows:

(a) On all city streets, or portions thereof, proposed to be established as a pedestrian mall.

(b) On all intersecting streets.

(c) If assessments are to be levied as contemplated by ORS § 376.735, then upon all open streets within the district described in the resolution pursuant to such section.
