Any person may voluntarily apply for admission to any treatment facility operated pursuant to rules of the Oregon Health Authority. The director of the treatment facility shall determine whether the person shall be admitted as a patient, or referred to another appropriate treatment facility or denied referral or admission. If the person is under 18 years of age or an incompetent, the director of the treatment facility shall notify the person’s parents or guardian of the admission or referral. Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 430.397

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
