(1) There is established as a separate and distinct fund in the State Treasury an Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund. The Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund shall consist of:

  • State Treasury: includes those financial assets the lawful custody of which are vested in the State Treasurer and the office of the State Treasurer relating to the custody of those financial assets. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
  • United States: includes territories, outlying possessions and the District of Columbia. See Oregon Statutes 174.100

(a) An amount credited to the fund pursuant to ORS § 305.690 to 305.753, which shall be transferred by the Department of Revenue to the fund.

(b) Gifts, grants and donations, in money or otherwise, for use as described in subsection (2) of this section, which the State Treasurer may solicit and accept from private and public sources and shall cause to be deposited and credited to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund.

(c) Interest or other earnings on the amounts described in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this subsection which shall inure to the benefit of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund.

(2) Moneys contained in the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Fund are continuously appropriated for the purpose of grants to the Alzheimer’s Disease Center of Oregon, a cooperative venture between Oregon Health and Science University, Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association to carry out research on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
