Oregon Statutes 431A.685 – Funding
The Oregon Health Authority is authorized to apply for federal grants that are available under 42 U.S.C. §§ 280g-11, 711 and 712 or any other appropriate federal funding source, and may solicit private gifts, grants or donations to carry out the provisions of ORS § 431A.675. [Formerly 431.866]

- Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
Section 4, chapter 220, Oregon Laws 2011, provides:
(1) ORS § 431.862 [renumbered 431A.675] and 431.864 [renumbered 431A.680] become operative on the date that the Office of the Legislative Counsel receives written notice from the Oregon Health Authority indicating that the authority has received an amount of moneys under ORS § 431.866 [renumbered 431A.685] that is sufficient to carry out the provisions of ORS § 431.862.
(2) The authority may take the actions described in ORS § 431.866 before the operative date specified in subsection (1) of this section to obtain the moneys necessary to carry out the provisions of ORS § 431.862.
(3) Until the operative date specified in subsection (1) of this section, the authority shall report on the actions taken by the authority pursuant to ORS § 431.866 to the Joint Committee on Ways and Means at least once during an odd-numbered year regular session of the Legislative Assembly.
