(1) One or more natural persons of the age of 18 or more, a domestic or foreign corporation, a partnership or an association, by submitting articles of incorporation to the Office of the Secretary of State for filing, may act as incorporators of a corporation for one or more of the following purposes:

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 554.020

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.

(a) Irrigating or draining land.

(b) Furnishing land with water for domestic use.

(c) Protecting land by flood control.

(d) Taking ownership of and operating existing sanitary sewer facilities when water for domestic use is supplied pursuant to paragraph (b) of this subsection.

(2) The incorporators shall file a true copy of the articles of incorporation in the county clerk’s office of the county where the land incorporated is situated.
