The State Department of Agriculture by rule shall prescribe the specifications, tolerances and other technical requirements applicable to commercial weights and measures within this state. In so doing the department shall take cognizance of those uniform requirements recommended by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and published in appropriate National Institute of Standards and Technology handbooks and supplements thereto. For the purposes of ORS § 618.010 to 618.246, weights and measures are correct when in conformance with all applicable sections of ORS § 618.010 to 618.246 and rules promulgated pursuant thereto. - Department: means the State Department of Agriculture. See Oregon Statutes 618.010
- National Institute of Standards and Technology: means the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the Department of Commerce of the United States. See Oregon Statutes 618.010
- Weights and measures: means all weights and measures, instruments and devices of every kind for weighing and measuring, and any appliances and accessories associated with any or all such instruments and devices. See Oregon Statutes 618.010
