(1) Subject to confirmation by the State Apprenticeship and Training Council, the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries shall appoint a State Director of Apprenticeship and Training. The director shall be well qualified, shall serve as council secretary and shall be responsible to the commissioner for the administration of ORS § 660.002 to 660.210, including supervision of all office and field staff.

(2) The commissioner, with the advice and consent of the council, may appoint such other personnel and incur such other expenses as may be necessary to aid the council and the director in carrying out their duties and functions under ORS § 660.002 to 660.210.
