Oregon Statutes 701.026 – Subcontractor licensing; landscaping
(1) A contractor may not hire a contractor to perform work unless the contractor is licensed under this chapter and properly endorsed for the work to be performed or is exempt from licensure under ORS § 701.010.
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 701.026
- Contractor: means any of the following:
(a) A person that, for compensation or with the intent to sell, arranges or undertakes or offers to undertake or submits a bid to construct, alter, repair, add to, subtract from, improve, inspect, move, wreck or demolish, for another, a building, highway, road, railroad, excavation or other structure, project, development or improvement attached to real estate, or to do any part thereof. - Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
(2) Except as provided in ORS § 671.540, a contractor that is not licensed under ORS § 671.560 shall hire a person licensed under ORS § 671.560 to perform landscaping work. [Formerly 701.055]
