The courts of this state are vested with jurisdiction over every person not resident, domiciled or authorized to do business in this state who is required to file a statement with the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services under ORS § 732.523 and over all actions involving such a person arising out of violations of ORS § 732.517 to 732.546. Each such person shall be considered to have appointed the director for the purpose of service of process. [Formerly 732.580]
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 732.541
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
