Oregon Statutes 732.549 – Subsidiaries
(1) A domestic insurer, either by itself or in cooperation with one or more persons, may organize or acquire one or more subsidiaries engaged only in one or more of the kinds of business described in ORS § 733.635.
(2) If an insurer ceases to control a subsidiary, the insurer must dispose of any investment in the subsidiary made pursuant to this section within three years after the time of the cessation of control or within such further time as the Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services may prescribe, unless at any time after the investment was made, the investment meets the requirements for investment under any other provision of the Insurance Code and the insurer has notified the director of that fact.
