(1) Notwithstanding ORS § 803.530, a registration plate assigned to a vehicle registered to a member of the Oregon National Guard or a military reservist ordered on active duty and deployed to a location outside the United States that expires while the person is on active duty shall remain valid for 90 days following the termination of active duty.

  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
  • United States: includes territories, outlying possessions and the District of Columbia. See Oregon Statutes 174.100

(2) The court shall dismiss the charge of improper display of validating stickers under ORS § 803.560 if, when charged, the person charged was the registered owner of the vehicle and a member of the Oregon National Guard or a military reservist, and the registration plate was valid pursuant to subsection (1) of this section. 803.533 was added to and made a part of the Oregon Vehicle Code by legislative action but was not added to ORS Chapter 803 or any series therein. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
